Icelandic 4- Icelandic society
Icelandic 4 – Icelandic, working life and society is a course designed to strengthen adult learners Icelandic language skills with a particular focus on active participation in Icelandic society and working life. The course is based on an accredited curriculum from the Education and Training Service Centre and is intended as a continuation of previous Icelandic studies. Emphasis is placed on developing vocabulary, reading comprehension, speaking, writing and listening skills, while also building students’ confidence in using Icelandic in everyday situations and in the workplace.
Teaching is carried out at a steady pace with a strong focus on repetition and varied teaching methods to support diverse learning needs. The course also introduces students to Icelandic society, as well as their rights and responsibilities in the labour market, and includes guidance on the use of digital tools for learning and daily life. At the end of the course, students’ progress is assessed and they are advised on further Icelandic studies or other suitable educational pathways.
Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00–7:00 pm at Ægisgata 2, second floor.

Íslenska 4 – Íslenska, atvinnulíf og samfélag er námsleið sem miðar að því að efla íslenskukunnáttu fullorðinna nemenda með sérstakri áherslu á þátttöku í íslensku samfélagi og atvinnulífi. Námið byggir á viðurkenndri námskrá Fræðslumiðstöðvar atvinnulífsins og er framhald af fyrri íslenskunámi. Áhersla er lögð á að styrkja orðaforða, lesskilning, tal, ritun og hlustun, ásamt því að auka sjálfstraust nemenda í notkun íslensku í daglegu lífi og á vinnumarkaði.
